Passive Fire Protection
Safire® Shuttering Batt
Designed to be used in conjunction with Safire Fire Compound as a shuttering material.
Safire® Shuttering Batts can be cut using a padsaw or similar to any shape required.
The Batt should be used to fully shutter a floor opening and then supported in place with either timber or metal to allow the Batt to be held in place.
The Batt should fully cover the opening and ensure that any gaps are filled with cut pieces of the Batt.
Safire® Fire Compound can then be poured in to the opening form above as per manufacturers instructions.
Once the Safire® Compound has fully gone off, the Shuttering Batts can either be removed or left in place as desired.
Maximum safe operating temperature would be around 750 degrees centigrade without any adverse affect.
Safire® Shuttering Batts are non combustible.
Safire® Shuttering Batts are no way effected by any of the chemicals found within Safire® Fire Compound.
The batts are of a high density designed to take the weight of the compound until it has gone off.
